The Darkridge - Dabord-Giem's Necrotic Northland

A Land Where the dead don't Rest...

Darkridge, the first realm of Dabord-Giem, is a scarred highland region swallowed by a e century of shadow — a land of mud, blood, and hard-won survival where every road is a gamble and every stranger has an angle. A hundred years ago, the War of Shadows and thVanishing broke this land open, and what grew back is harder, stranger, and hungrier than what came before. Necrotic saturation poisons the soil and thins the fey. Undead march in tactical formations through fog-choked passes. Aerial predators — drakes, griffins, and worse — nest along the ridgelines, turning every peak and cliff into a death sentence for anyone foolish enough to climb.

Two road systems carve through the region: the Southern Road, loosely patrolled and worn but passable, running from the imperial entry at the Jagged Planes through the haunted Sullen Crater to the coastal settlements of Torien and Morsh; and the Northern Road, completely lawless, cutting west through the Wolf's Den and Kyrost Valley toward the fallen Dverin stronghold of Stonerest Mountain. Where the roads meet sits the Darkfog Narrows — permanent fog, permanent danger.

Torien gleams like a lie at the region's edge, a pristine resort city built on ancient ruins by the enigmatic Dorian Blackstone, promising wealthy tourists rejuvenation while Morsh rots in the swamp beside it — a poverty-stricken port town held together by greyroot farming, smuggling, and stubbornness. Dverin craftsmen, Kynfolk drifters, Beastkin laborers, FireMarked exiles, Elarin recluses in the deep Darkwoods, Urzak sellswords, and Humans of every stripe scrape out lives among factions that range from the honorable Knights of Kelemvor to a fractured FireMarked underground to a pirate flotilla that answers to no crown.

Every gold piece matters. Every alliance has a price. Darkridge is where Dabord-Giem begins — grounded, gritty, and unforgiving. Try not to die on the first night.
